Christopher Wool’s See Stop Run was staged on the 19th floor of an unoccupied office building at 101 Greenwich Street in New York City’s Financial District. The raw, industrial space - with exposed wires, concrete floors, and panoramic city views - offered a stark contrast to traditional galleries. Visitors moved from a corporate lobby into this unfinished environment, reinforcing themes of urban decay and transformation. Curated by Anne Pontegnie, the exhibition featured paintings, sculptures, and mosaics, interacting dynamically with the space. By placing his work in this unconventional setting, Wool challenged gallery norms, creating a powerful dialogue between contemporary art and the city’s architectural landscape.
