West Main Library W.I.P.
The goal of the West Main Library is not just to create a functioning library but a space that serves as a center for gathering creativity and experiential learning for all community members. The project adapts a 1896 public school structure to be a contemporary library and community center, utilizing the preexisting structure as much as possible to achieve the most sustainable building possible.
The school structure provides more space for the library's extensive programs, a large children's library and early learning center, a teen room with communal and private study areas, and a flexible gathering space for community programs.
